Oleson Knife / Shaw - Leibowitz Engraved
Front Cover: Knife World September 2011
Abalone & Mosaic Handle / Custom Case
*SOLD*
Summary: this is a vintage knife made by Bob Oleson, one of the cover knives on the September 2011 issue of Knife World. The blade was engraved by Shaw - Leibowitz in 1977, a color scene with gold-plated merman, mermaid and dolphin. The blade is 5-3/4" long, overall length of the knife is 9-7/8". Condition is excellent+++ with some tarnish and light spots from age, it'd clean up quite nicely if desired but it's really not necessary. The abalone / silver mosaic handle is quite stunning -- color is absolutely gorgeous in direct light.
A custom display box accompanies the knife, the green felt inside the box is perfect. There are some scuffs on the outside of the box from past handling -- the clasp that locks the box is missing.
11 photos for review -- as shown, the September 2011 issue of Knife World is also included. As a bonus, a vintage newpaper / magazine photo showing Leonard Leibowitz holding this exact knife is also part of the package. This is a beautiful piece perfect for any vintage knife collection -- a must have for anyone who collects knives engraved by Shaw - Leibowitz. Thanks and good luck.
