Summary: this is a great old knife paired with an even sweeter sheath. This RMK 12-8 has it's original edges and blade finish, a gorgeous knife. The wood handle (not sure what type) has a brass escutcheon plate engraved with the initials R.J.W -- scalloped collar and butt cap with a small brass tang nut. Condition is excellent+++ or better, nothing more than a few very light handling marks on the blade (visible in direct light only) and a bit of tarnish / wipe marks on the brass hardware.
The knife is paired to the original Johnson B "no hone" roughback sheath with original toe tab lanyard. Rare bird, this one... and in fantastic shape. This sheath looks damn near new but for a couple of lines on the keeper strap from past knife storage -- a couple of small, very light spots on the front. Sure to satisfy even the pickiest of sheath afficianados (admittedly, I'm one of them), easily excellent+++ or better.
10 photos for review -- as shown, an older black Randall Made Knives carry case and black print care / instruction sheet are both included. Admittedly, the photos turned out nice. (pat myself on the back) That said, this vintage knife / sheath combination is even more impressive in person. It's a fabulous knife, and the sheath... well, the sheath is something else. All yours for under 1k shipped, the perfect choice for long term investment or collection purposes.
Thanks and good luck.
