Summary: this is #204 of 300 50th Anniversary knives made to commemorate RMK's 50 years in business. (1938 – 1988) This knife is in near mint condition with a bit of light tarnish and a few wipe marks on the hilt. The blade is perfect -- the red crown stag is one of the nicest I've seen on this model.
The sheath is also in near mint condition, way better than most JRB's I've seen paired up with this model. The throat and keeper strap clean, the knife was obviously not stored in the sheath. You'll find a few light rubs if you look hard, all very minor.
13 photos for review – as shown, and old style black Randall Made Knives carry case and black print Randall care / instruction sheet both included. Prices on these knives have been all over the board lately, the not so pretty ones with mucked up sheaths selling for right around 3k. I've seen a couple go over $3,500 – one was a nice looking knife with original catalog. Long story short: I've priced this knife fairly and am leaving about 10% "meat on the bone" for the next owner. It's a sought after model due to limited quantities; a collector can usually find one on the market, but rooting out an exceptionally good looking one like this can be a bit of a trick. It's most definitely a centerpiece knife – thanks and good luck.
