Admittedly, I knew nothing about this particular Council Oaks Bowie knife before reading about it in the Lile book. This much I know: it's rare and only 25 of these were made.
Out of the late Tom Clinton’s vast collection of unique Lile knives, this oddball hunter / skinner has a 6” blade with deep choil, brass guard, black micarta handle, and brass butt cap.
This is a 1-only leather tool made for the Lile's first sheath maker, John Lamb. Overall length of the tool is about 7-1/2" -- the blade is quite sharp. The notes on the tag attached to the handle were written by Marilyn. (see photos) Made in 1977.

This is an custom all steel semi-skinner Trout & Bird knife (also referred to as a poker) made by Jimmy Lile.
This is a terrific looking, unused fillet knife made by Jimmy Lile. It's an early one with the rare shorter (less than 9") blade length, script signed "Hand Made by James B. Lile". This knife has a single brass hilt and fingered stag handle, overall length is 12".

A rare little bird, I think it's a version of the model 23 but I'm not certain. This knife has a 4-1/2" tool steel blade, reduced brass guard (neat!), and light colored stag handle.
A very early unused Jimmy Lile paring / utility knife with the single line / single word "Lile" script signature. The knife probably dates to the late 60's, very early in Jimmy's career. The blade is 3-1/8" long -- overall length of the knife is 7-1/8".
